Types of Spider Vein Treatment

Treatment of small spider veins can be done in our office with the use of high-intensity lasers. While laser skin resurfacing is an effective treatment for small veins found on the feet and ankles, sclerotherapy is a much more effective method of spider vein treatment and can be used to treat larger varicose veins as well.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy spider vein treatment involves the use of a very fine needle to inject a solution directly into the veins you wish to eliminate. The solution irritates the vein, causing the inner lining of the vein to collapse and swell shut. The blood within the vein disappears and the vein becomes much less visible. While several injections may be needed to completely eliminate a patient’s vessels, sclerotherapy is virtually painless and requires little recovery time.

Spider Vein Therapy Recovery

After your spider vein treatment, Dr. Zubowski will recommend that you wear a support hose to minimize swelling and ensure optimal results. Spider veins that are more stubborn may require more than one treatment. Though you will not see the full effects of your spider vein treatment for one to six months, Dr. Zubowski and his staff are confident that you will ultimately be very pleased with the results.
